Demand Side Management Programs

A complete report on the Hoosier Energy Power Network’s 2011 DSM activities and cumulative results can be downloaded here.
Demand Side Management (DSM) programs, which include energy efficiency and demand response, provide opportunities to reduce demand at a lower cost than building new power plants. In 2009, enhanced energy efficiency programs were launched to help consumers more effectively manage energy usage and reduce the impact of increasing power costs on consumer rates. With a company-initiated goal to reduce system peak demand and total energy sales by 5% from forecasted levels by 2018, Hoosier Energy offers our member cooperatives the option to implement the following Demand Side Management programs: Appliance Recycling Program, Commercial & Industrial Prescriptive Rebate Program, Energy Management Program, Residential HVAC Program, Residential Lighting Program, Touchstone Energy Home Program, and Weatherization Program.
